The grass is greener over here

We spent the last week watching our yard transform! It was so fun for all of us to watch the workers get everything done. The kids would literally walk back and forth thru the house to watch each step along the way. Jacob did not want to go to school and miss out on the action. Anna wanted to be out there digging alongside them all day! But, after all this time, we finally have some grass! We are so excited. Thank you Bart for working so hard and working overtime so we could have the nice yard that Bart mostly designed. Am I a lucky girl or what?
The BEFORE picture
Getting stuff delivered---we loved watching the big dump trucks

Getting the rock wall in place

About half way done--looks better already!

Rest of the wall and some plants in

Flagstone to help fix the builders stupid driveway mistake

The left side of the house completed

Closer up of left side

The AFTER picture-we love it!

Quotable Quotes along the way from Jacob:
"I think I want to be a landscaper now. But I only want to drive the Bobcat and put in the grass. I don't want to do all that rock work." Smart boy--pick out the fun stuff.
And my favorite was the day it was done, he woke up the next morning and said,"We aren't white trash anymore Mom! Well, maybe just a little since we still haven't done the backyard." I almost peed my pants. Do you think he heard us joking around. Oh I love that mind of his!
We can't wait to play on that grass once we are allowed to walk on it. Then anyone is welcome to join us on our tiny patch of greeness!

That is so funny about Jacob saying you aren't white trash. I can almost hear you say it to Bart! I'm glad to see you have some drought tolerant landscaping in there. Smart!

So fun to get your yard landscaped! I can hear that wt comment coming from you...must have passed it along to the next generation! Isn't funny to hear our kids repeat things we say? Anyway, you have a serious cake decorating talent....are you self taught? It puts my bday cakes (I mean cupcakes) to shame. Will you pass along some pointers?

The pictures are beautiful and Jacob once again is hilarious! And if he wants to pursue his landscaping dreams, send him to our home, we will hire cheap labor!

Hey there! Now I've found you too. Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day - looks like you and I are doing the same thing lately, which is LANDSCAPING. I can't tell you how much I love paying other people to do my work. Awesome. I wish my stint in Primary hadn't been so short - who knows how often I will see you after today!

Why we joined this bloggy-blog world!

We hope that we can keep in better contact with our friends and family, both near and far. Besides, it is easier to see pictures this way instead of emailing them! And did we mention we think our family is pretty cute, especially those kids of ours! Check back often and keep in touch!

About Me

I am a proud 32 year old woman (you know they say 30 is the new 20!) I am married to Bart, the love of my life, and we have three amazing kids, Jacob, 6 1/2, Anna,3 1/2, and Rachel 9 mos. We met in college in Utah and lived there for the first 6 years of our marriage. Then we followed Bart's career and moved out to the East Coast. We decided to follow it back to the west about a year ago and are adjusting to life in a new place. We are sure thankful for all that we have and hope to stay in better touch with friends and family alike with our blog!
