Spring Break in Utah: A Day at Hogle Zoo

It started out VERY cold that morning. Thankfully, it warmed up to the perfect temperature for a visit to the zoo. All of the animals were moving-we even saw elephants eating from a hanging basket. The kids enjoyed the animals, but they also enjoyed running around with cousins. Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed it as well. Rachel eventually let my Mom hold her for a few minutes here and there. It took a few more days for Grandpa to earn that honor! Jacob and Anna both love the penguins and we got to see them swimming around and playing. We also got to ride the merry-go-round (Jake sat on the penguin and Anna on the Panda-her other favorite). We also were able to go on the train ride at the end. As we left completely exhausted, we were also starving, so we made a stop at "Hires Big H". Jacob refuses to call it just Hires. Jacob was also anxious to try someplace new, but he was the first one to lick his plate clean. Hamburger (ketchup only), fries, and a coke. Wonder why it licked it clean so fast! Anna also enjoyed a shake! Hmmm, good stuff. It was a fantastic day. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma and cousins!

I thought the Zebra print was very appropriate.

Jacob and Isaak were too cool to pose for me.
They were also obsessed with the map.

Tillie also shares Rachel's birthday!

We can't wait to go back!

There is just something about Annie. I am so excited to have all the kids together. There is nothing better than cousins. I love that Jake would only call Hires the full name - that is something Erik would do. Excited to see you!!!!

LOVE that zoo! I remember my wa gorilla I had made when I was 8. He was super cool until he melted in the car. Not so cool then! Sheesh!

Why we joined this bloggy-blog world!

We hope that we can keep in better contact with our friends and family, both near and far. Besides, it is easier to see pictures this way instead of emailing them! And did we mention we think our family is pretty cute, especially those kids of ours! Check back often and keep in touch!

About Me

I am a proud 32 year old woman (you know they say 30 is the new 20!) I am married to Bart, the love of my life, and we have three amazing kids, Jacob, 6 1/2, Anna,3 1/2, and Rachel 9 mos. We met in college in Utah and lived there for the first 6 years of our marriage. Then we followed Bart's career and moved out to the East Coast. We decided to follow it back to the west about a year ago and are adjusting to life in a new place. We are sure thankful for all that we have and hope to stay in better touch with friends and family alike with our blog!
